    Tools:

    Size 10 1/2, 20 inch circular needle
Set of size 10 1/2 DPNs
    Tapestry needle
    Stitch Marker

Yarn: Any bulky weight yarn. I used Joann sensations "Angel Hair"

    Instructions:

This pattern is done in repeating patterns consisting of two rows. Row1 = R1 and Row2 = R2. It is also divided into Part1 & Part2. Each part has instructions that are independent of the other.

    CO 102, place marker

    Part 1:

R1: *P1, K the second stitch on the left needle. Leave this stitch on the needle and K the first stitch on the left needle. Drop both stitches off the needle. Rep from * to marker

    R2: *P1, K2. Rep from * to marker

Hint: It helps if you write down what row you are on as it gets confusing after awhile.

Continue both rows of pattern until 7 inches long

Hint: you may want to switch to the DPNs at this point.

    Part2 (the decrease):

Make sure marker falls AFTER a purl so that the FIRST part of the pattern you will work in this section is the raised mock-cable.

    R1: * K2nd, K1st, Drop. P. K2nd, K1st, Drop. P4tog. K2nd, K1st, Drop. P4tog. Rep from * to marker.

Note: you may not finish a pattern on the R1s of this section. That is ok. If when you hit the marker, you are at a P4tog and don't have enough stitches BEFORE the marker, work over the marker and place it after the P4tog.

    R2: *K2, P. Rep to marker

    Repeat R1 and R2 3x. Repeat R1 for a 4th time.

Cut yarn, leaving about 10-12 inches of tail. Using your tapestry needle, thread the yarn through the remaining stitches and pull tight. Knot off.

I also added a flower and leaves. I used the American Beauty rose and garter stitch leaf found in "knitting over the edge". You can also find the pattern for the matching scarf in "Stitch N Bitch Nation".
